A New Shop

After a bit of a making spree for birthdays etc, several people asked me if they could buy some of my work so I have taken the plunge and set up a shop, you can get to it from the tab marked shop at the top of the Blog.
The pictures show examples of  the types of thing in there.  If you get a chance to visit the shop and like it do please visit our Facebook page and "like" it -  the link is in the right hand bar.

Steel Corset Anyone?

A few weeks ago I spent a lovely play day organised by the wonderful Ann aka The Flutterby Crafter.  We all altered a paper mache Torso and the range of styles was amazing!  I got my colour and Ten Second Studio metal embossed and applied on the day but knew it wasn't "finished" .  The stand came a little later courtesy of Ann's handy husband, and it sat on my desk patiently waiting.  I knew it needed something that went beyond the frame but it was when looking for something else I found the mesh in my stash (isn't it always the way, we forget what we have till we look for something else we've lost and find a forgotten treasure or two).  So I fiddled a bit and in the end decided this was just right.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Over on the Happy Daze DT Blog our August challeneg theme is "Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside".  I decided to use one of the House Curio Boxes with Artistic Outpost and Scollswork  stamps to make a sort of homage to Victorian bathing habits.   Then when it was almost complete the wonderful Paula Tidman uploaded her sample for theme and it was a fabulous House Curio creation!

Darn I thought, srill not to be daunted I've finished mine anyway. Just goes to show, it is possible to have the same or very similar ideas at the same time!   Have to get my thinking cap on now to make something else for te DT Blog.

A Little Wooden Box

A square wooden box decorated with inks, paints, Prima flower and lace.  It's over the top I know but I like it.

I don't tend to blog  scrapbook layouts as I don't tend think of myself as a scrapper, although  I do enjoy it, but I rather liked the way this one turned out  using a picture of me and the other half attending a friend's birthday bash where we are both smiling and neither are pulling a weird face - a real rarity that!

More Pendants

                                                                           Angelina

Cymbalene

I've been playing with the resin again, using vintage images in bezels I've coloured with Inka Gold paints and some glitetry loveliness! I have back stories for these two cuties.   Angelina cannot wait to grow up be a beautiful elegant flapper, she dreams of a glittering future, full of romance and champagne, chauffer driven cars and dancing the night away while Cymbalene is a child of the faerie world, Cymbaline rides on the back of dragonflies, fashions gowns from spider silk, dances under the full moon, turns water to crackling diamond ice with her laugh  and  sips the morning dew on the lip of cowslips.

Grand Duchess Valerina

This is a pendant I made for a friends birthday recently.  I thought of this vintage image as being the Grand Duchess Valerina, a striking and elegant woman, regarded by everyone as being highly intelligent and having a great presence.  As the Grand Dame of an ancient royal dynasty she has a long term view of world affairs, the saplings she plants today will only become mighty oaks a long way in the future.
